David 'Cover Drive' Astwood announces retirement
David ‘Pimms o clock’ Astwood today announced his retirement from the Ball Bangers to go and play Beach Softball in Adelaide, Australia. Confirming rumours that this will be his final season for the Bangers David told a packed press conference
“Well you know, playing for the Bangers has been the highlight of my career, I don’t think it will hit me until next season and I’m not stepping out onto Primrose Hill pitch 1 but I think it’s time for me to spend more time with the family, softball has been the only thing in my life for quite a while now and I just need a break“
Although David hasn’t had the best of seasons he has found form towards the last few games and hit his first home run of the season against Imagination.
